Engineering Overview & Fluid Dynamics

Active contamination barrier and laminar downflow principles

The Himalayan Steel Cleanroom Storage Cupboard is engineered to provide dust-free, lockable containment for sterile packaging materials, batch manufacturing records (BMR), laboratory chemicals, and critical machine change parts. Available in complete AISI 304/316 stainless steel or anti-microbial epoxy polyester powder-coated galvanized steel, the cupboard features a cGMP compliant 30-degree sloped roof, heavy-duty adjustable internal shelves, and silicone perimeter door gasketing to maintain cleanroom hygiene standards.

Cleanroom Construction & Architectural Design

cGMP sanitary fabrication details from our Baddi engineering works

Monolithic Sloped Roof Body

Press-formed top slope built at 30 degrees with seamless continuous welded edges to meet cGMP pharmaceutical audit mandates.

Reinforced Box-Channel Shelves

Shelves are formed with double-return hemmed edges and welded center hat-channel stiffeners to support 120 kg without bowing.

Three-Point Espagnolette Lock

Turning the central handle shoots heavy steel locking rods into top, bottom, and center door frames for total security.

Heavy-Duty Lift-Off Hinges

Precision stainless steel investment-cast hinges allow doors to open a full 180 degrees for unobstructed access to wide totes.

Food-Grade Gasket Seals

Non-toxic silicone extrusion fitted around the door frame cushions impact and keeps airlock dust out.

Sanitary Tubular Foot Assembly

100 mm raised tubular legs permit cleanroom mops and vacuums to clean underneath the cabinet without blind spots.

Standard Operating Protocol (cGMP SOP)

Standard operating guidelines and contamination control sequence

SOP REFERENCE GUIDE
Objective
To establish protocol for storing cleanroom tooling, packaging, and records in storage cupboards.
Scope
Applies to all storage cupboards in production corridors, packaging lines, and lab stores.
Responsibility
Store In-Charges, Production Operators, and Quality Auditors.

Step-by-Step Material Transfer Sequence

1
Unlock the cupboard using assigned key or access code.
2
Open doors fully to 180 degrees before moving heavy items to prevent hinge strain.
3
Place heavy tooling dies on lower shelves and lighter materials on upper shelves.
4
Ensure stored items do not protrude beyond shelf front edge to avoid pinching door silicone gaskets.
5
Close doors firmly and engage 3-point lock handle completely; remove key and store in key box.

Sanitization & Wipe-Down Protocol

  • Wipe external body and sloped roof weekly with 70% IPA.
  • Empty shelves during scheduled monthly shutdown and sanitize internal panels.
  • Inspect leveling studs and ensure 100 mm under-cabinet floor gap is mopped daily.

Fail-Safe Interlock Protection

  • Shelves lock into pilaster clips securely, preventing accidental tipping when pulling heavy trays.

Optional Engineering Customizations

Site-specific hardware adaptations

  • Perforated shelves for vertical air circulation when placed in laminar flow rooms
  • Sliding door mechanism for tight cleanroom corridors where swing doors obstruct pathways
  • Internal drawer units on stainless steel ball-bearing telescopic slides
  • Chemical-resistant polypropylene shelf liners for acid storage
  • Digital combination code locks or RFID badge access sensors

Quality Validation Package (DQ/IQ/OQ)

Audit-ready documentation for US FDA and EU-GMP inspections

  • Design Qualification (DQ) Documentation & CAD Drawings
  • Installation Qualification (IQ) Anchoring & Leveling Checklists
  • Shelf Load Deflection Testing Certificate (120 kg load rating)
  • Material Test Certificate (EN 10204 Type 3.1) for Stainless Steel

Cleanroom Design Highlights

  • 30-degree sanitary sloped top prevents overhead dust collection and eliminates clutter
  • Heavy-duty internal stiffener ribs allow storing heavy tooling dies and spare parts up to 120 kg/shelf
  • Silicone perimeter gasketed doors keep moisture, dust, and insects out of sterile goods
  • Adjustable shelf height increments (50 mm pitch) accommodate tall bottles and bulky totes
