Engineering Overview & Fluid Dynamics

Active contamination barrier and laminar downflow principles

The Himalayan Steel Mobile Laminar Air Flow Trolley (MLAF) solves the critical pharmaceutical risk of contamination during the transit of sterile items across cleanroom corridors. Equipped with an on-board sealed maintenance-free (SMF) gel battery bank and inverter system providing up to 4 hours of autonomous operation, the trolley maintains a continuous 0.45 m/s vertical laminar downflow through certified mini-pleat H14 HEPA filters while unplugged and rolling between production suites.

Cleanroom Construction & Architectural Design

cGMP sanitary fabrication details from our Baddi engineering works

Low-Center-of-Gravity Chassis

Batteries and inverter are mounted in the bottom ballast compartment, ensuring rock-solid stability during manual pushing over doorway floor tracks.

Seamless Electropolished Bed

Interior tray area is formed from AISI 316L stainless steel with coved corners and perforated bottom sheet for smooth laminar flow return.

Intelligent Battery Management Display

Digital dashboard indicates battery percentage, remaining runtime minutes, charge current, and filter differential pressure.

Automatic Mains Transfer Switch

Plugging into wall power instantly switches motor power to AC mains while simultaneously recharging onboard batteries seamlessly.

DOP/PAO In-Situ Test Port

Convenient test port permits aerosol scan validation without dismounting the overhead motor blower module.

Full-Perimeter Bumper Guards

Non-marking food-grade silicone wrap-around bumpers prevent wall scuffing in narrow cleanroom corridors.

Standard Operating Protocol (cGMP SOP)

SOP REFERENCE GUIDE
Objective
To establish operating and battery charging procedure for the Himalayan Steel Mobile Laminar Air Flow Trolley.
Scope
Applies to all transfers of sterile components across cleanroom grades using mobile LAF trolleys.
Responsibility
Sterile Area Operators, Autoclave Attendants, and Engineering Technicians.

Step-by-Step Material Transfer Sequence

1
Verify the trolley has been charged overnight and the battery meter displays 100% capacity.
2
Start the blower switch and verify that the Magnehelic gauge shows normal operational differential (10 to 18 mm WC).
3
Allow the trolley to run for 10 minutes to establish Class 100 sterile equilibrium inside the chamber.
4
Wipe down the SS 316L internal shelves with 70% sterile IPA before loading items.
5
Load sterile wrapped components directly from the autoclave or oven into the mobile chamber; close the front curtain/door immediately.
6
Unplug the mains charging cord and let it retract into the built-in reel.
7
Transfer the trolley smoothly through cleanroom corridors to the sterile filling room at a steady walking pace.
8
Upon arrival, connect the power cord to the local cleanroom wall outlet to preserve battery power while unloading.

Sanitization & Wipe-Down Protocol

  • Sanitize interior bed and handles before and after each sterile transfer with 70% IPA.
  • Wipe clean exterior walls and polyurethane wheels after transit through corridors.
  • Wash bottom pre-filter mesh monthly in purified water.

Fail-Safe Interlock Protection

  • Low battery audible alarm sounds when remaining runtime drops below 20 minutes.
  • Foot brake locks prevent trolley rollaway when stationary on sloped drainage floors.

Optional Engineering Customizations

Site-specific hardware adaptations

  • Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) lightweight battery upgrade for 6+ hours runtime
  • Rigid clear polycarbonate hinged front doors with magnetic latching
  • Adjustable perforated intermediate stainless steel shelves
  • Battery low-voltage audible warning buzzer and flashing alert beacon
  • Flameproof battery compartment enclosure for ATEX solvent zones

Quality Validation Package (DQ/IQ/OQ)

Audit-ready documentation for US FDA and EU-GMP inspections

  • Design Qualification (DQ) Documentation & Center-of-Gravity Analysis
  • Installation Qualification (IQ) Battery & Inverter Test Protocols
  • Operational Qualification (OQ) Transit Velocity & Battery Endurance Test
  • DOP/PAO HEPA Filter Integrity Scan Certificate
  • Particle Count Validation Report in Active Transit Mode (ISO Class 5)
